Teen Happy Kits for Children's Mercy Hospital
How would you like to make a difference in someone’s life?
At Farmers’ Electric, one of our Cooperative Principles is Concern for Community. So we are assembling Happy Kits for the patients of Children’s Mercy Hospital and their families, AND WE WANT YOUR HELP!
While there are Happy Kits assembled for all age groups, we are focusing on the pre-teen and teenage group which is 13 and up. And at this time, is Children's Mercy's greatest need.
Unexpected and extended stays at Children’s Mercy can be rough and these kits can make a child’s day and give patients and their family’s activities to pass the time.
If you would like to help, you can make some Teen Happy Kits along with us. A Teen Happy Kit can be assembled for as little as $5-10 and kits include:
- an adult coloring book, coloring book pages, word search, or crossword
- one package of colored pencils
- a card game (Phase 10, UNO, Skip-Bo, etc.)
- and a writing journal
- all items can be stored inside of a gallon sealable baggie
There are some guidelines that Children’s Mercy has asked us to follow, so please visit the link provided. https://www.childrensmercy.org/ways-to-give/volunteer-at-the-hospital/happy-kits/
Once your kit is assembled, drop it off at Farmers’ Electric. We will have a designated area for drop-offs in our lobby or, for your convenience, drop it off in the bottom of our Drive-up Dropbox. A label will be placed on each and every Happy Kit stating it was donated by the communities of Farmers' Electric Cooperative.
We will be collecting Teen Happy Kits from now until the end of April.
Remember, every little bit helps! You could make it an individual project, a family activity, or challenge your coworkers as a group effort!
On behalf of Farmers’ Electric, thanks for helping us make a difference in these family’s lives!
