WASHINGTON WINNERS!

The 2007 Youth Tour to Washington Essay Contest winners were, from left, Courtney McLain, Meadville; Ryan Riggs, Chillicothe; and Kaci Sargent, Meadville. The three students won an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C., courtesy of Farmers’ Electric. (See below).

Kaci Sargent, a junior at Meadville High School, is the winner of the 44th annual Youth Tour to Washington Essay Contest sponsored by Farmers’ Electric Cooperative. The top three winners of the contest receive an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C., courtesy of FEC.

Joining Sargent on the trip will be Ryan Riggs, Chillicothe, and Courtney McLain, Meadville. Sargent is the daughter of Mike and Kathy Sargent, Meadville. Riggs is the son of William and Ruby Riggs, Chillicothe. McLain is the daughter of Steve and Susan McLain, Linneus.

Winning trips to the C.Y.C.L.E. conference in Jefferson City were Micah Brown, the daughter of Mike and Lori Brown, Hamilton, Lauren Crawford, the daughter of John Crawford, Hamilton, and Haylee Zell, the daughter of David and Barbara Zell, Meadville.

Washington winners will leave June 8 and return June 15. C.Y.C.L.E. winners will be in Jefferson City July 20-24. A total of 21 students throughout the area took part in the contest.
