Thank You To Our Veterans
Mike Sanders, CEO, November, 2009

Over the last year and a half, I have written several columns about the proposed cap-and-trade legislation. This is a hotly debated topic right now, as is the legislation on healthcare.

Regardless of which side you support on these issues, or any other issue, there is one that we should all be able to agree on - and that is that we are thankful for the freedom to have open debates in this country.

This freedom did not come cheaply. Millions of men and women going back to the battles of Lexington and Concord in 1775 have served this country to earn this freedom. Many have made the ultimate sacrifice by giving their lives for this country. Veterans' Day is coming up on November 11th. Please take a moment to reflect on the many great things about this country, and thank the veterans that have given us that freedom.

We have several employees at Farmers' Electric that have served their country, and I would like to recognize them in this column. They are: Nolan Parks - Air Force; Len Peery - Marines; Steve Shoot - Army; Ed Turbyfill - Marines. It is because of them, and many others like them that we enjoy the freedoms that we have in the USA. Thank you.
