Gary Hamilton Retires After 32 Years
June 15, 2010

Gary Hamilton, Gallatin, has hung up his tools and is officially retired. Hamilton's last day was June 15.

"We're still going to stay in the Gallatin area," said Hamilton. "I'm just going to have alot more time for my hobbies and grandkids."

His first day on the job was May 8, 1978. He worked on a construction truck, based out of Chillicothe, until 1979, transferring to the Hamilton area. As a journeyman lineman, he worked out of the Hamilton warehouse for 26 years, transferring to the Gallatin area in 2005.

He is very active as a volunteer fire fighter, including serving as an assistant fire chief and fire chief. He has been a member of the board of directors for the Gallatin Fire Protection District for the last three years. Hamilton graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1963. He worked for several different companies before being employed by FEC. He likes to hunt and fish, plus there will also be a little traveling during his free time, Hamilton said. There is also time to be spent with his six grandchildren. He and his wife, Tanya, are the parents of four children.
