Farmers' Electric Cooperative Names New Communications Specialist
January 18, 2012 CT

Chasity Anderson will begin her duties as Farmers' Electric Cooperative's new communication specialist on Monday, January 23, 2012. "We had some outstanding applicants for this position," said Mike Sanders, FEC CEO. "We are very pleased to be able to add Chasity to our staff."

Anderson will have a number of responsibilities, including writing and designing the Watts Up pages for the Rural Missouri magazine, print and electronic advertising, news releases, school programs and much more.

Anderson will fill the vacancy created by Steve Shoot, manager of member services, who is retiring on February 17 after 26 years with the cooperative.

Anderson grew up in Saline County. She graduated from New Bloomfield High School after spending most of her school years in the Marshall and Malta Bend school districts. She then graduated with honors from Central Missouri University in Warrensburg in 1999 with a bachelor of science degree in agricultural business and management.

Her career began in the political arena with then Senators Kit Bond and John Ashcroft, where she worked as a field representative, primarily communicating constituent concerns to the legislators and planning events when the senators were in Missouri.

Radio beckoned and Anderson spent nearly 11 years as the news director at KMZU Radio in Carrollton. Most recently, she worked as the office manger at KCHI Radio in Chillicothe.

She currently resides on a farm in Livingston County with her husband, Danny, and daughter, Audrey. Her hobbies include spending time with family and friends, reading, cooking, and listening to music.

She will have a busy first couple of weeks at the cooperative. She will be meeting with Rural Missouri magazine staff members at the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives (AMEC) in Jefferson City. Then, she will meet with member services personnel at Associated Electric Cooperative, in Springfield. In between, she will be participating in legislative activities on behalf of Farmers' Electric for AMEC and northwest Missouri while in Jefferson City.
